Contact Status Icon Start a New Conversation Edit Conversations

Scope

Intended Audience: All End Users

The following article will show you how to use Group Chat with other domain users in the Manager Portal.

 

Requirements

Access to Manager Portal

 

 

Contact Status Icon

Green Icon 

Contacts displayed with a green dot are available.

Blue Icon

Contacts displayed with a blue dot are available to chat in the portal.

Red Icon

Contacts displayed with a red dot are currently busy.

Gray Icon

Contacts displayed with a gray dot are unavailable/offline.

Start a New Conversation

  1. To access group chat, log into the Portal with any scope. 
  2. Click on the Start a new conversation button in the top right of the Contacts Dock.
  3. Continue to the new conversation box and add the user participants to the new conversation. Press Start to create the session.
    NOTE: If using group MMS with an external SMS number, you cannot send to an on-net extension, and must use the extension's SMS number.

Edit Conversations

  1. Once in the group conversation, you can:
    • Add/remove participants
    • Change the conversation name (the change will be seen by all users in the conversation)
    • Leave the conversation
    • Delete the conversation
  2. All of these actions can be accessed within the conversation header.
